My client, a successful Manufacturing business based in Plymouth. They are looking for A Mould Setter/Operator to join their 2pm to 10.30 pm shift on a full time basis.

Candidate requirements:

1, Experienced mould setter for small to medium mould tools

2, Background to include modern manufacturing experience, with a good knowledge of lean manufacturing, and health and safety cultures.

3, Must have a good practical background, and be able to offer the following.

  •  Ensuring tools are set and machines are tuned to meet product and component specifications, and tolerances
  • Have a good knowledge of how to, operate plastic injection moulding machinery to produce various products and components
  • Carry out tool changes and have a good general knowledge of maintenance of all tooling, and how it works.
  • Monitor all production, and able to make adjustment to ensure cycle times are being achieved and production is as efficient as possible.
  • Ensuring a high level of quality and maintaining repeatability
  • Certify the components produced are gauged to specification as fit for purpose
  • Responding quickly to any machine breakdowns and be able work in a team , and contribute to improving component t quality
  • Ensure that all necessary production documentation is completed on time, is accurate and can be understood by others
  • Work within strictly controlled production environments, and conform to International and European Regulatory standards;
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the company Health & Safety Policy

  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in an injection moulding role.
  • Knowledge of different materials, injection moulding machines and mould tools
  • Setting machines and optimising processes


  • Good practical skills and ability to handle small components and assemblies
  • Have a good attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively in a team
  • Good personal and effective communication skills
  • Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Good time management skills, i.e. reporting to work on time, break times.
