We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to work in a vibrant, friendly office for a family run company in Paignton. This is a part-time, permanent position; working 12 hours per week, spread across 2 weekdays. Typical working hours are 8:30 to 4:30, however there is flexibility with how the hours are spread over the week. There is the potential for this to become a full time position in the future.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in accounts, bank reconciliations and credit control activities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle complex and sometimes challenging customer queries, in a calm, mindful and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using client portal/software
  • Managing the accounts approval process for sales invoices
  • Sending sales invoices and consolidated invoices to clients in a timely manner
  • Receiving inbound supplier invoices and inputting them into XERO
  • Adding sales invoices to the accounting system
  • Checking and verifying supplier statements
  • Managing the accounts department inbox
  • Bank reconciliation duties
  • Credit control

Personal Specification:

  • Previous accounts experience
  • Good time management skills
  • Positive, self-motivated attitude
  • The ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Capability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Previous contracting experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Experience in using XERO would beneficial but is not essential
