Assisting the Contract Manager and support technician you will form part of the specialist services shift team and will be part of carrying out all aspects of flooring repairs and services that are required for medium and large sized project works. The main part of the role will involve the removal and reparation of concrete, which will require the use of machinery and manual skills.

Customer service is the company’s highest priority, and whether you’re working in a team or with other trades tenants you will be required to deliver a timely, efficient, safe and friendly service of the highest quality.

Although you will officially be based in the head office in Ivybridge, you will frequently be travelling to client sites, as is the way with this sort of work. When based in Ivybridge you will be working on multiple roles as required throughout the factory.

As you may expect, the role requires a level of flexibility in both hours and location. Travel will be majority UK based but there may also be a requirement for overseas work. You could be away for anything from one night to two weeks. There may also be occasions when you’re required to work outside of standard working hours, for example, nights or weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Contract Manager in co-ordination of on-site services to ensure the service is maintained to the highest standard in all circumstances
  • Complete works
  • Simple report writing
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, using point of work risk assessments where required
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
  • To perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on all associated equipment, including fault finding and repair
  • Operate within the Integrated management System at all times whilst being authorised to raise improvement ideas directly to the Continuous Improvement or Senior Management Teams

Knowledge and Experience:

  • You will have proven experience in a repair, maintenance and a contract environment
  • Adaptable building fabric skills relating to hard and soft flooring finishes
  • Experience in floor repairs using screed and self-leveling compounds
  • Experience in cutting and welding
  • Experience in concrete cutting and resin methods
  • Experience of setting up and working within the confines of a safety exclusion zone
  • Competent and experienced in using relevant trade machinery and specialist tools
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the role; e.g. working rotating shifts, manual handling, etc.
  • Flexible attitude to work
  • CSCS Card preferred

A full UK driving licence and knowledge of health & safety at work are essential. You will need to demonstrate an organised yet flexible approach and the ability to meet deadlines.
