Data Analyst (Excel)

One of the largest employers in the South West is currently looking for a Data Analyst with strong Excel knowledge to join their growing Plymouth based team on a permanent basis. This role will work within the purchasing / buying department to analyse accounts and supplier information.


Key Responsibilities of the Data Analyst (Excel):

  • Work closely with purchasing / buying department to analyse performance of suppliers etc.
  • Create data models
  • Review data to assess potential cost saving / efficiencies improvements areas
  • Set up reporting functions so that reports can be easily run by team members
  • Create billing and planning schedules (using Excel)
  • Be proactive and willing to provide other general analytical support for the wider purchasing team on alternative projects

Skills Requirements for the Data Analyst (Excel):

  • A relevant degree (i.e. Mathematics / Statistics) AND/OR 3+ years experience as a data analyst
  • Exceptional Excel skills and knowledge – advanced/expert level
  • Data Modelling experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to present analytical findings clearly to management

Desired (NOT essential) for the Data Analyst (Excel):

  • Experience within a purchasing / buying / procurement function
  • SAS/SQL knowledge

Working hours for the Data Analyst (Excel) position will be: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30am-12:30pm
