We are looking for a Distribution Centre Manager who will be responsible for supporting, developing and motivating the management team through effective leadership, development and coaching, and therefore will be continuously looking to improve business performance. In this role, you will manage the Distribution Centre team, evaluate current processes that are in place and ensure productivity targets are met across all areas of work.

Key responsibilities

    • Drive high performance while supporting, developing and motivating the management team through effective leadership, development and coaching.
    • Identify and evaluate processes to ensure efficiency throughout costs and productivity.
    • Work with the Operations Manager to ensure systems are utilised effectively and that output is optimised.
    • Support the management team in the recruitment of new DC team members
    • Have a clear understanding of the company vision and ensure KPIs and productivity targets are met across all areas of work.
    • Produce a weekly status report for the Logistics Director to update on the previous week and forecast the week ahead.
    • Take responsibility for the Health and Safety within the Distribution Centre and ensure all guidelines are adhered to by all employees.
    • Keep the Distribution Centre stock inventory accurate and up to date by ensuring all processes are adhered to correctly.

The successful applicant:

With proven previous experience managing a warehouse team you will have the ability to confidently and professionally lead and motivate teams.

With great attention to detail and using your excellent IT skills and database knowledge, you will be able to work with budgets in order to keep track of progress in the Distribution Centre.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, while a qualification in the Warehouse/Logistics sector is desirable.

As an organised individual with strong time management and planning skills, you will have expertise to manage tasks effectively and efficiently. Using a professional approach, you will be able to give and receive constructive feedback in order to improve the performance of the team and company. Your communication skills will be complemented by your fantastic ability to work well under pressure, while remaining self-motivated and adaptable to different situations that may arise.
