The main focus for the Logistics Analyst is to identify, extract and manipulate data to create and utilise a materials plan that supports operational efficiency. The Logistics Analyst will review and analyse data in order to create proposals focussed on process improvement and superior customer service within the logistics function.


Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Analyst:

  • Extracting data from multiple sources
  • Creation of materials plans (PFEP) to use as the key tool for logistics planning and management
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques
  • Provide ongoing and regular KPIs and reports Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other methods that optimise efficiency and quality
  • Use data to provide planning information that supports operational control and resilience
  • Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns to support process management and improvement
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with Logistics Management team to prioritise business and information needs including identification and escalation of risks and issues
  • Work with the operational team to locate and define new process improvement opportunities


Skills / Experience Requirements for the Logistics Analyst:

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Qualification in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • Ability to manage multiple activities to ensure on time implementation of projects (including the resolution of issues as they arise to ensure no detrimental impact to timing)
  • You should be able to analyse and use data to inform proposals and decision


Please Note - the working hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30am-12:30pm
