We are looking for an experienced Acoustic Consultant. As a small environmental consultancy, we have the ability to be flexible, therefore we will consider applicants who want to work either part or full time, but we are ideally looking for someone who is able to work a 40 hour week, 9:00 – 5:30, Monday to Friday. Overtime will be paid for additional work onsite, outside of office hours.
A company van will be provided for site visits as you will be expected to travel across the South West for client visits and assessments. Occasionally work may require you to stay overnight in one of these locations, for which accommodation costs will be covered. You will predominantly undertake environmental, BS4142 and BS8233 noise surveys in support of planning applications for clients such as small residential developers; restaurants, hotels and public sector clients.
If appointed, you will be working in what is currently a virtual office in Plymouth or from home if you prefer. While you will have all the support you need from senior staff and other offices, you will need to have a hands on approach and not be afraid to follow your own initiative and work alone. This role would suit someone who is confident in their abilities and is happy to manage their own time efficiently and effectively.
We will consider a junior level applicant with 6 months plus experience but ideally we are searching for a senior level applicant. For the right candidate, with the right skill set and attitude, there is the opportunity to start as (or be promoted to) the company lead on acoustics. If you were to be considered for the more senior position, you would be responsible for managing a small team of Consultants and Technicians and would be looking at a salary of up to £50,000 per annum.
As the lead on acoustics, your responsibilities will include quoting on jobs, reviewing reports produced by our consultant and technician and implementing your experience from acoustic consultancy work to help our business continue to grow. In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have a good knowledge of environmental acoustics. The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following skills, qualifications and attributes:
In this role you will spend a lot of your time preparing noise assessments and acoustic surveys to meet local authority requirements and for planning permission applications. As a relatively small business; working hours, salary and benefits are negotiable. This is a unique opportunity to work with a rapidly growing business that truly cares about their staff.
