Project Engineer

If successful, you will be working within the Engineering team and within the manufacturing business unit, developing a wide range of products and processes which will involve undertaking all aspects of the introduction of new products into manufacturing. As the project engineer, you will be expected to take responsibility for ensuring process capability to achieve QCD requirements and regulatory compliance of new product introductions and of changes to existing products/processes. Working towards Project deadlines within planned project & product cost constraints and timescales and providing manufacturing engineering expertise & knowledge in support of the manufacturing organisation goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and control schedules and timing plans for new projects
• Generation of Process Flow and PFMEA documents
• Record project progress, actual activity start and finish, document any supporting information
• Writing process / control plans, setting up Bills of Materials and Routing
• Creating Plans / Protocols / Reports for validation of Medical devices
• Attend Project / Production meetings as required
• Update resource schedules and associated reports
• Maintain the Key event listings and Milestone Plans
• Verify product / process accuracy with Production Managers and Team Leaders
• Manage QCD targets so that new parts achieve estimates in production
• Generation, management and completion of engineering change requests Deliver on the job training and process skill transfer to relevant personnel Conduct health & safety, COSHH, PUWER risk assessments as required
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure high QCD for supplied parts
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of appropriate regulatory standards
• Control of customer design data (e.g. drawing control)
• Manufacturing data and variance analysis / control

• Minimum of an HNC in Engineering
• Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and processes
• Experience as a project engineer or similar role
• Knowledge of associated tool design and manufacture
• Knowledge of engineering drawings
• Excellent communication skills
• Use of Syspro
• Document and Data control
• Injection Moulding experience
• Understanding of Process Validation, experience preferable
• Project Management experience would also be beneficial
