We are searching for an ambitious, highly driven and self-motivated Business Development Manager who is looking for a career in consultative sales. This business publishes an award winning magazine, hosting some of the most significant industry events in the UK.

The Bristol office is one of seven; the South West is the fastest growing division and has quickly been established as the market leader from a commercial perspective. Established in 1991 and owned by its own management, this organisation has serious growth ambitions.

You will be working with board directors, partners, business owners and senior figures within the public sector. Some warm clients will be gifted for account management but the majority of your work will likely consist of bringing on new business, then managing and developing those accounts in your territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the regional sales director
  • Developing your own South West territory
  • Responsibility for taking new products to market when they are launched
  • Securing advertising, sponsorship and leaflet revenues for the magazines
  • Sponsorship for a range of events and banner advertising and sponsorship of online products
  • Increasing revenues from existing clients and securing support from new clients through strong consultative sales skills

Personal Specification:

  • Strong track record of achieving stretch targets
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Working well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent presentation skills in a business to business environment
  • Confidence when working with Board Directors and Senior Level Management
  • Resilient, dedicated and hard working, both within a team and independently
  • Successful in both Account Management and New Business Development
  • Ability to close business, both face to face and over the phone

This position is Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 5:30 and is office based, however there will be an expectation that you attend up to ten client visits on a weekly basis. You will be working in a highly target driven environment with your own personal development program.
