Our client is a key supply partner to many of the region’s leading manufacturers and due to increasing demand, they are looking to recruit a Welder / Fabricator, on a temp to perm basis, for employment in creating everything from automotive and railway parts, to components for specialist seating and data cabinets.  One-off items are produced along with large production runs; therefore the work has a lot of variety.

The company has a comprehensive range of in-house metal fabrication technologies which are among the best in the South West.  There are opportunities to learn and develop new skills in a friendly, supportive environment; my Client was also a double award winner in 2016 for their commitment to apprenticeships and training.  The key requirements for this exciting new role are listed below:

Skills required:

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication work (or apprentice trained).
  • Primarily TIG but also MIG welding experience required, and can work on a variety of materials but mainly mild and stainless steel.
  • Ability to work from engineering/fabrication drawings.
  • For longer production runs, you’ll need to demonstrate focus and the ability to work with jigs.
  • Aluminium welding experience, not essential.


  • City and Guilds or NVQ or equivalent qualification from college relating to Sheet Metal and or Fabrication and Welding
  • You will be asked to Complete A Weld Test on Interview 

Hours of work: 

  • Usually day shift but flexibility for late shift required.
