Job Description

Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will have demonstrable management experience across the Transactional Finance function. This position would suit someone with a strong financial background and people management experience as it is a very hands on supportive role, managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams. This is a hybrid position, however, will require working in the Plymouth office at least 2-3 days a week – note that the team are all office based. The temporary contract is anticipated to be for 3-6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Developing and mentoring a team of 9 with two direct reports.
  • All banking and expense transactions.
  • Ownership of monthly payroll journal.
  • Responsible for handling queries both external and internally Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reviewing AR ledgers and escalating any aged debt.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of bank reconciliations.
  • Drive improvements of transactional and billing processes through automation Enhancing and creating better working practice and system management.

Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:

  • CCAB qualified accountant e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA (or equivalent) by education or demonstrable knowledge.
  • Have previous management and leader experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of efficient running of Sales and Purchase Ledger.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have experience in and taken part in improving processes and practices.
  • Be comfortable speaking to all seniority levels.
  • Experience using a modern cloud-based ERP system.
