Job Description

As a result of our clients expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Assistant Product Compliance to be based at a prestigious Head Office in Plymouth.

About the Role:

  • Oversee booking and review of pre-shipment inspections, factory & social compliance audits & related paperwork
  • Evaluate labels, packaging and instruction manuals to ensure accuracy for data and regulatory markings.
  • Prepare documentation and product specifications based on technical information.
  • Ensure that supplier production methods meet current legislation guidelines.
  • Monitor & assist on various new product introduction projects and related activities.
  • Input data for product quality, safety and due diligence documentation.
  • Analyse and verify third party test – inspection documentation and certification
  • Work on own initiative, adhering to both rapidly changing deadlines / timescales
  • Interpreting & relaying complex information back to colleagues and suppliers.
  • Request and processing of technical and other product related data from buyers or suppliers.
  • Take part in internal and external process improvements.
  • Direct liaison with buying teams, suppliers, other departments & service suppliers.
  • Reviewing internal & external complaints & conducting compliance checks in line with company procedures.
  • Collating and analysing data and charts against defined parameters.
  • Proactively identifying and analysing potential problems and proposing commercially acceptable solutions.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management abilities gained in a fast-moving commercial organisation
  • Ability to react swiftly to changing requirements and pressures
  • A demonstrable technical experience in mechanical or electro engineering or hardlines or softlines
  • PC literate with experience of working with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent written & verbal skills.
  • A keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Experience in QC.
  • Experience of the risk assessment process
  • Wide knowledge & understanding of product groups and how products are manufactured.
  • Good lateral, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience & understanding of specifications, drawings and component level problem solving
  • Knowledge of 8D, DFMA, FMEA Six Sigma and other quality tools
