TQR Exeter are currently recruiting for a Catering Manager to join our client’s canteen style kitchen team at an educational centre based in Dorset. This could be the perfect role to develop your career in catering without sacrificing your social life.

  • Live-In accommodation on site available if required
  • Salary: £40,382.00pa
  • Optional meal package available at a heavily discounted rate. With all bills and utilities covered and three nutritional meals every day
  • Medium to large scale dining environment
  • 3 services per day, 7 days a week
  • No late nights – typical finish 8pm
  • 42 hours per week working 5 days over 7
  • A Friday or Saturday evening off each week (during non-peak periods)
  • In charge of own rota and hours
  • No working over the Christmas period

What will you be doing?

  • You’ll be in charge of a great team of talented Chefs, Catering Assistants and Team Leaders
  • Delivering a friendly and welcoming experience to your guests
  • Ensure all health and safety, allergen safety & food safety standards are followed
  • Taking care of all financial aspects of the catering operation, ensuring the function remains within budget, provides maximum value for money whilst maintaining excellent quality

Requirements:

  • Willing to undergo a DBS check
  • Proven experience as a Catering Manager/Supervisor or leading teams on a mid to large scale within the catering industry
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification and Level 3 Food Safety
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, mass food production, food safety, and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Ideally a driver with access to own transport
