TQR Exeter are working within the educational sector and we have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Supervisor to join the team on a permanent, full time contract.

This position would suit someone with a few years’ experience in catering or the hospitality industry who is looking for the next step in their career.

As a Catering Supervisor you will be required to:

• Lead a small team up to 12 in their food & drink outlets
• Support other teams across campus when business requires
• Administrational tasks – such as reviewing bookings, creating allergen matrix and labels, liaising with customers etc
• Acting as a coordinator/dispatcher for orders
• Maintaining the already high standards
• Deputising for the Assistant Trading Operations Manager in their absence
• Plan staff rota’s
• Day to day running duties – ensuring staff in your team serve and interact with customers in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner
• Conduct basic food preparation and the serving of food and beverages in line with HACCP and their operating brand standards
• Complete mandatory training and service specific training such as allergens, food hygiene, health and safety, first aid, COSSH and any other University policies and procedures
• Maintain the highest levels of personal hygiene, appearance and conduct for you and your team
• Undertake any reasonable request to help others

To apply you must:

• Be customer focused, team player who can also work alone
• Be able to demonstrate high standards and be well organised
• Have a passion for providing high quality food and drink
• Have previous experience in a fast-paced food delivery setting
• Have experience in roles within catering, retail and kitchens, with knowledge of allergens, food hygiene and health and safety would be preferred
• Have a Full UK Drivers licence due to the nature of the position
• Be flexible to work a mixture of shifts including some evenings and weekends
• Have excellent communication skills
• Good team worker with the ability to work alone, supervise and direct teams and use own initiative within a trading environment
• Have the ability to deal with customer complaints and constructive criticism
