Job Description

Our Client, a very successful and well respected manufacturing Company, are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Machine Operator for permanent employment due to ongoing expansion and growth. Working closely with the Team leader, you will have primary responsibility to set up, run & maintain machines within production. Applicants need to have previous mechanical engineering knowledge to ensure production is maximised through effective change over processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, run & maintain machines within production.
  • Maintain & improve uptime/OEE of the Machines through standardisation and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement First Line Maintenance (FLM) & Cleaning procedures for the machine area & operators.
  • Complete daily start of shift checks to ensure correct start up condition.
  • Identify & escalate any areas of concern to Team Leader with corrective action requirements.
  • Complete Quality Inspections in line with defined schedule to ensure product alignment to specification.
  • Develop corrective actions for Quality conditions identified – validate completion.
  • Ensure daily production plans and output targets are achieved.
  • Provide quick response in ascertaining potential equipment failures, including diagnosis, first point of escalation to Maintenance department for urgent response.
  • Monitor machine performance and report via defined metrics, escalate any concerns expediently to Team Leader for recovery, support, and resolution.
  • Monitor machine Efficiency & Productivity performance.
  • Develop daily change over plans to maximise machine use/uptime.
  • Develop improvement and process initiatives to reduce cost in line with set targets.

Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:

  • Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering – BTEC National/ONC/HNC.
  • Min 3 years’ experience within mechanical fitting & maintenance/machine setting role.
