Job Description
Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, you will direct and control the manufacturing process through the effective utilisation and co-ordination of resources and materials. Provide effective and timely plans, act as a focal point for communication within the business and safeguard customer service externally and internally at optimum cost to the business. Helping to resolve issues in the Supply Chain end to end that impact improvements in performance. Working hours are Tuesday to Friday 06:30 – 16:30 with occasional Saturday cover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile the daily plan for Prep, Production and Packing
- Balance capacity daily and within a 2 week daily capacity view
- Generate effective plans based on predefined (de-fault) plans that minimise planned downtime
- Monitor Despatch stocks and date life and rectify discrepancies
- Act as guardian for customer service and communicate to the business daily and weekly
- Generate and communicate the Planning KPI Dashboard for service, conformance to plan and finished goods waste
- Contact commercial managers to request concessions or to advise on service failures
- Assist in FG’s stock control, picking up ongoing issues and resolving these with the relevant parties in Despatch and SBSC
- Generate the 7 day plan
- Coordinate exceptional activity such as product trials, promotional packaging, samples and production with 3rd Parties
- Undertake handover to nightshift team
- Conduct Data analysis able to plot trends and spot opportunities
- Assist in the development training documentation including training programs and training delivery to other team members
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
- Knowledge of constraint planning and scheduling methods in food manufacturing (Desirable)
- Previous Planning or Scheduling Experience (Desirable)
- Excel to advanced level and use of Aurora/ System 21
- All relevant site/area policies, procedures and practices (Including customer specific codes of practice)
- Continuously and constructively challenge the current way of doing things
- High level of accuracy, written and numerical information
- Excellent decision maker who is able to make balanced decisions based on the benefits of options available and understands the cost impact
- Able to compile and interpret data
