Junior QA Tester

Job Description

We’re looking for a Junior QA Tester to join a growing technical team, testing a range of in-house software and helping to make sure everything works as it should.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen interest in IT, software and technology who enjoys problem-solving and has good attention to detail.

The Role

You’ll be involved in testing software across different platforms, carrying out a variety of testing and reporting any issues you find.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Testing in-house software using a range of testing methods
• Carrying out specific software and hardware testing when required
• Finding, recording and reporting software issues
• Working with other internal teams to suggest improvements and new features
• Supporting the development and maintenance of automated testing systems
• Providing regular updates on your work
• Attending meetings and contributing ideas
• Completing tasks set by the QA Manager within agreed deadlines
• Helping with general administrative tasks when required

We’re looking for someone who is organised, thorough and able to follow instructions carefully while still being able to think creatively when problems arise.

You’ll need to be:

• Detail-focused and methodical
• Comfortable working on repetitive tasks
• Able to manage your workload and meet deadlines
• Flexible and able to switch between tasks when needed
• Comfortable working under pressure
• A good communicator, both face-to-face and in writing
• A good team player
• Naturally curious and interested in how software works

Essential Skills

• Good general IT skills
• Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Good written and spoken English
• Good attention to detail
• Clear and concise written communication
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

It would be beneficial if you have:

• Basic programming knowledge
• A genuine interest in IT and technology
• Experience using both Windows and Mac
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
• An interest in crafting or creative software
